The present study investigated the impact of Psychological Capital and Core Self-Evaluation on Organizational Commitment among doctors in public sector hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. A total of 260 questionnaires were floated among doctors who were being working in the leading public sector hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The final questionnaire used for data collection was a matrix instrument and included three different instruments i.e. 24 items Psychological Capital Questionnaire, 12 items Core Self-Evaluation Scale and 18 items Organizational Commitment Questionnaire in order to derive in-depth information about all the concerned variables of the study. The results revealed that both Psychological Capital and Core Self-Evaluation were significantly correlated with Organizational Commitment. The correlation values between psychological capital and organizational commitment is 0.843, whereas the correlation between core self-evaluation and organizational commitment is 0.897. A collection of three models were used in the study. The first model showed that there is a strong relationship between Psychological Capital and organizational Commitment with R-squared value of 0.711. With R-squared value of 0.805 the second model depicted that there is a strong influence of Core Self-Evaluation on Organizational Commitment. The final model gave a comprehensive result and represented a robust influence of both the Psychological Capital and Core Self-Evaluation on Organizational Commitment with R- square value of 0.897. The findings provide valuable evidence on redefining the whole process of recruitment specifically the contents to be included in the comprehensive recruitment and selection strategies that will lead to organizational commitment and reduced turn over intention. The study highlighted the factors to be addressed in the course of hiring the new graduates which may lead to enhanced retention and loyalty of the employees with their respective organizations. It also helps in the development and building of teams, by bringing forth the competencies required for being a team player. Based on the findings an organization can derive a conclusion whether to launch a training or development program

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a number of challenges that influenced economic conditions and social behaviors of individuals, and also organizational operations in an adverse manner. This study is a critical literature review that aims to highlight the pivotal role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in devising strategies and practices that can be used to alleviate the hindrances that resulted from the current global health crisis. For this purpose, relevant articles published between December 2019 and April 2022 were retrieved from different databases, some of which include: Scopus, Science Direct, and Web of Science. Only 27 articles were chosen for this study due to a higher degree of relevance. The study concluded that HRM was competent enough to devise varied strategies and practices that enabled organizations to continue its routine operations while ensuring health, safety, psychological well-being, motivation and productivity of personnel at the workplace in prevalence of the global pandemic. Furthermore, limitations of the study and recommendations for future research are also included

open access articleThe growing communication and computing capabilities in the devices enlarge the connected world and improve the human life comfort level. The evolution of intelligent sensor networks and smart antennas has led to the development of smart devices and systems for real-time monitoring of various environments. The demand of smart antennas and intelligent sensors significantly increases when dealing with multiuser communication system that needs to be adaptive, especially in unknown adverse environment [1–3]. The smart antennas based arrays are capable of steering the main beam in any desired direction while placing nulls in the unwanted directions. Intelligent sensor networks integration with smart antennas will provide algorithms and interesting application to collect various data of environment to make intelligent decisions [4, 5]. The aim of this special issue is to provide an inclusive vision on the current research in the area of intelligent sensors and smart antenna based systems for enabling various applications and technologies. We cordially invite some researchers to contribute papers that discuss the issues arising in intelligent sensors and smart antenna based system. Hence, this special issue offers the state-of-the-art research in this field

ABSTRACT: The investigation aims to know the possible impact of Job Satisfaction (JS) on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), while taking Organizational Justice (OJ) as a mediating variable. Four areas of JS, five areas of OCB and four dimensions of OJ are analyzed in the study. Population includes personnel working in privately owned banks located in Malakand Division, Pakistan. Sample size is 260 but only 153 responses were received and recorded. The results showed a direct impact of JS on OCB i.e. 48%; the effects on OJ due to JS is 71%, the effects of OJ on OCB gave a result of 58%; while the effects of JS on OCB, being mediated by OJ are 31%

Sehat Sahulat Program is health initiative initially launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt for the people of the province. This paper is aimed at looking at the program from the patients and doctors’ point of view. The study is qualitative in nature and is interview-based assessment of the program. For this purpose, five doctors from the top tiers and ten patients have been interviewed. The central point of these to see as to what extent the program is viewed by these two main stakeholders. The findings are expected to benefit both the research community as well as all the stakeholders. It will enable the policy makers to how to improve the program so that its set target can be achieved as postulated in the program. The authors believe that though this is simple approach to an issue that is related to almost all people, it is hoped that these findings would help the future researchers to look at the program from more complicated aspects

Proper nutrition plays a key role in the growth of fish. However, limited supply of raw material for fish feed has posed problem for the ever-growing Aquaculture. Waste water from food industries (e.g. diaries and slaughterhouses) contains considerable amounts of proteins and fats to be used as fish feed. Similarly, glycerol which is a by-product in biodiesel production can be used as carbon source by yeast. Linseed oil can be useful as a source of fatty acids. In this study we investigate the potential of waste from paper and beer industries as a growth medium for yeast. We used two different concentrations of Glycerol and Linseed oil. Media was inoculated with yeast and cultured for 48 hours. To determine the growth of yeast, OD (Optical Density) was measured for each sample at three hours intervals. Our results show that waste from beer industry is very promising as compared to waste from paper industry for the growth of yeast. Moreover, all strains of yeast showed better growth when lower concentrations of glycerol and linseed oil were added to beer water as compared to high concentrations
